Side of Temple
Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew or better known as the Temple of a Million Bottles is located in Sisaket Province.
Local monks wanted to assist in reducing waste in the nearby landfills and came up with the idea of building with beer bottles to help the local area lead a greener lifestyle.
Inside of Temple
The collection of bottles started in 1984 and took about two years to build the main temple. The monks continued to expand the site and there are twenty plus buildings today.

There are several wall murals within the buildings which at first site look mosaic. Once you get closer you realize they are made from bottle caps. How Cool!

Temple of a million bottles is used by locals daily. Due to its remote location you will see very few if any tourists.
We drove half a day on our two week trip through Thailand just to see this temple and it was well worth the trip!
